I competed in the WABDL Midwest Regional championships this weekend. It was sweet. I achieved my goal of winning the 165 lb men’s open division. I also set the Minnesota state record for 2 divisions with a ‘3 white light’ bench-press of 380 lbs – ‘3 white lights’ means all three judges called it a clean lift.I did manage to put up 391 lbs but unfortunately, I only got 1 white light due to a double dip on my right side. Regardless, I qualify for the world championship this year in Anaheim, CA on November 15th-20th. I don’t expect to win since I’ll be up against guys who put up over 500 lbs. My goal is to place in the top 25 with a bench-press of 450 lbs. I begin training on that goal TODAY!
